Please help your child to spend some time this weekend practicing and studying for their math final exam. This test will take place next Wednesday morning and will have questions from all of the units and outcomes in math this year. Taking time to check in on difficult areas and be prepared will be important.

Practice finals (which are the same length and have the same types of questions) were passed out early this week and are a great way to start studying.

Tonight you should have seen two very important things come home.
1- all students had a chance to see their mark for their reading comprehension final test. They should have written it in their agendas. This test is now in portfolios so it will come home at the end of the school year.
2- everyone was supposed to pick up a copy of their math final practice exam. Like all practice exams this year it is the same length and format as the final test (next Wednesday morning) will be. This is only to help your child get started with their studying. More review- especially on big number strategies- are needed to help students refresh their minds and feel confident. Ten minutes of studying/night would be very beneficial.

Updates for this week:
Our final library period was today to hand back books. All students still need a book in class at all times, I have a classroom library selection or they are welcome to bring one from home.

Our final math weekly assignment went home today and will be due back this Friday. Thank you to all of the parents that have taken time this year to check that this weekly practice is being completed.

Finally- today we built switches designed with imagination and built with the supplies at hand. Here are a few example.

This afternoon 5B and 5S worked together to show our understanding of the two wetland locations we have visited. We did this by graphing our data and explaining what our graph represents. Ask your child about their graph and what it showed.

Homework for this weekend:  For any students not yet done their Social Canada's Confederation Assignment.  This completed assignment is due back Monday morning.

Tomorrow is our all day wetland field trip to K country. Please help your child to be ready for the weather.
- bag lunch
-appropriate clothing for the weather
- a rain layer just in case
- rain boots or old shoes that may get wet/muddy in the pond
- sunscreen and bug spray

Also, a reminder about Caring Understanding Belonging and Safety (our CUBS code behaviours) and what that should look like tomorrow would be a great way to start everyone off positively.

Thank you!

Please help!
Due to unforeseen circumstances two of our wonderful parent volunteers have had to cancel for our field trip this Wednesday. We REALLY need at least another three volunteers that can join us. If you are able, please send me an email or drop by.  We'd really love to ( and need to) have you!

Please find an information form and permission slip for our final health unit of the year - human sexuality - sent home today.  If you have any questions, please drop in and see me and I'll be happy to talk with you.

If possible, I would appreciate these forms returned on Monday, or Tuesday at the latest.

Thanks and have a happy, sunny weekend!

A reminder that tomorrow Math weekly assignments are due.

Also - last night running club permission forms went home with students interested in joining a weekly running club for the rest of the year.  Please send these back ASAP.
What a great summer project - especially since we live in such an amazing place to be outside!  I know I have many video and tech savvy students.  Why not give it a try?
