 Our final week together

Both desk binders and your child's portfolio should now be home so we'll be sending the rest of supplies back to you this week.  Any items that are still in good shape please consider keeping for use next year.

There's still lots of goodness to come so please take a look at our busy final week.  (and remember to please let me know if your child will not be making it one day, or if your holiday plans start early since all items will need to be cleaned and sent home first)

Monday, June 27th:  Swimming 1:00-3:00   Thank you to my amazing volunteers joining us again for one final activity!  Please ensure that your child has a reusable bag with their swimsuit and towel.  An extra snack or drink for after swimming is also appreciated.

PM: Movie afternoon.  We will be watching the movie "A cry in the Wild"  this is an older movie but based on the events in the novel "Hatchet" which many in our class have been reading as their novel study.  Students are invited to bring a blanket and pillow as well as movie snacks for our picnic style movie in the class.

Wednesday, June 29th: AM: Story sharing with Mme.Sara/Mme.Sophie's class.  We'll be sharing our legends and listening to them share their newspaper articles.

Our class have created surveys to collect data.  We are doing these digitally to collect  as much information as easily as possible.   By using Google Forms we are also able  to use the response function to see the information charts.

If you have a few minutes to complete some surveys please follow the link below to see all of those for the class.

 Week of June 6

Monday:  math weekly goes home to be completed by Friday

Tuesday:

Wednesday:  1:30-2:30 Grade 3 transition visit.  We will be hosting a grade 3 class and sharing our great classroom and school with them in some fun activities.

Math final practice test coming home - Math finals will take place Tuesday June 21 The practice tests are provided to help guide studying at home. They represent the same variety and number of items students will see on their final exam.  Students and families are encouraged to use them to help identify areas of strength as well as areas for additional practice to help refresh confidence and understanding before the exam.  (please note that hundredths remain integral to our understanding and practice of decimal numbers in grade four and five, so though pennies are no longer in common circulation we do discuss them as examples in the classroom.  For test items using money students can choose to either give answers using pennies or round to the nearest nickel as shops in Alberta commonly do)

Thursday: Math multiplication timed facts final assessment

First drafts of our LA/Social legend writing project is due by the end of the day

Friday (half day):  Math weekly is due
