Week of Feb. 2

Monday: Spelling #7 comes home

Tuesday:  Space presentations begin today.

Wednesday: Gr. 2 collaboration - building bundle bows  We will be heading up to ERS for the afternoon to work in groups with a grade 2 class.  It would be great to have a couple of parent join us for this fun afternoon.  (1:15 - 3:00).  Please let me know if you are interested in joining us :)

Thursday:  Multiplication for marks

*Library - books for renewal or return  need to come to school today

Friday (full day ):  Spelling test and Assignment #7 due

Week of January 26

Monday: Math Weekly  #6 comes home

All Space brochures should already be completed for Science.  3D artifacts are due by the end of this week and will be displayed in the library after being presented next week.  

Tuesday:

Portfolios come home - please take time to look through them with your child before report cards come out on Friday.

Wednesday: No more skiing, but thank you so very much to all of our parent volunteers these last 3 weeks.  We do however have special guests from the Canmore Eagles coming to join us after lunch! 

Thursday:  

*Library - books for renewal or return  need to come to school today

Friday (dismissal at 12:00):   Math weekly # 6 due

Report Cards are available online

Coming up on Feb 4th in the afternoon - we will be heading up to ERS to work with a grade 2 buddy class.  We will be trying a new skill - building bundle bows.  

We need at least 2 parents to come and join us for this fun afternoon.  Please send me an email if you can join us (1:30-3:00).

   Week of January 19

We are continuing multiplication (with two digits on the bottom) this week and plan to be near the end of that unit the end of next week.  You'll start seeing small multiplication strips coming home that we are doing most days for practice.  Students in grade 5 should be able to complete those strips of 20 questions within 2 minutes.  (basic facts are a grade 3/4 outcome).  If you need some more resources for helping your child to practice at home, please check out the Math section of my website.

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Norquay ski trip - we leave by 9:00 and should be back at the school for 3:00.  

Students require their gear (skis and boards can't be sent on the school bus, please drop these at the school either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning), appropriate Mitts, ski pants, coat, helmet and goggles (if they have them), as well as a bagged lunch, drinks and snacks.

* Students are responsible for staying with their instructor (or adult group leader in the afternoon) and for showing respectful and safe behaviour at all times *
