This week's homework assignment is the first in the spelling list.
In addition I'm once again looking for volunteers. We will be having a combined Nature Explorers day this Friday with 5S. From 10-12 we'll be at the school building Earth day posters, then we'll be heading outside for the afternoon. If you can join us for part, or all, of the day please send me an email or note.

The second installment of our wall climbing video created by Connor is now ready for viewing. Enjoy!

Today was our final day of wall climbing and was another success! Another instalment of our class climbing video will be coming soon.
In other news: parent-teacher-student interviews are coming again next week. The online booking system will soon be open. If you would prefer a time closer to after school, please email me directly and I'll be happy to meet with you then instead of later in the night.

Sent home tonight, is another form that I need from you. This one is permission to come to World Cup with us next week (the 8th). Please add your child's name somewhere on the page, check the is allowed box, sign it and return it as soon as possible. There is no cost for this, but a bag lunch is needed.
Also - though it's a busy and exciting week there is still a math homework assignment due this Friday. There will also be our final Chemistry unit test the end of next week. A study guide has been handed out and some helpful students were working on a definitions dictionary online that has been shared with the class this afternoon. This can help with studying vocabulary words.

This morning we went wall climbing at the Banff center. Thanks to Chris and his crew, as well as our two fabulous parent volunteers!
Here's what we learned
Anika: We learned how to tie climbing knots and to make sure that our harness and knots are tight.
Jonah: We got to see how to belay a person.
Elora: You should have some upper body strength to climb walls and when you come down you need to push off (use your feet) on the wall.
Jeremy: Use your legs!
Gabe.B: when you put on your harness, C is closed, O is open.
Ethan and Cam: You want it to be a C (or it's not safe).
Rae: Have FUN!
Check out some of our pictures so far, and coming soon will be a video update from 5B videographer, Connor.
