Week of April 29th

We will be beginning Rube Goldberg devices at the end of week.  Once your child has their building plan completed, please help them to collect any materials that they still need and send them in to the school by Thursday.  

As the end of the year approaches there are lots of field trips coming.  Please watch for and complete our next online permission forms for climbing at Elevation Place as well as our Plant field trip in BVPP. For our Plant field trip especially we are looking for a number of volunteers to be able to support the program - so please join us May 22.  

Monday: Math Weekly #12 comes home

Tuesday: Math For marks - fractions, equivalent fractions, Decimals and percentages

Wednesday: 

Thursday: Building items for Rube Goldberg devices needed at school.

Friday (half day):  Math weekly is due

Parks Canada Theater presentation of "Ragweeds to Riches".  Thank you to everyone for completing the online permission form.  Please be sure your child is wearing appropriate footwear and layers for the walk to CCHS this morning.

** Online permission form has gone home for the theater presentation of "From Ragweeds to Riches" at CCHS.  Please complete this as soon as possible **

Monday: Spelling #12 comes home  

Join in a school yard cleanup at lunch recess to earn House points and help put trash in its place!

Tuesday: Math - Geometry robot project is due

Wednesday: Clean pop can, or small Pringle container, with lid needed for science lab

Thursday:  Bring a litter-less lunch to earn House points and make a positive difference for the Earth.      LGMS Open House 6:00-7:00

Friday (half day):  Spelling is due in the morning

Wear Green for Earth Day on Friday

We will be starting to plan for our final Rube Goldberg Projects soon.  

Please be sure to be collecting supplies at home. 

 Items like: cereal boxes, string, balloons, marbles, shoe box, paper towel roll...

Week of April 15

Monday: Math weekly #11 comes home

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Grotto Canyon hiking field trip - we will be away most of the day and outside for this field trip.  There will be walking/light hiking over rocks and rough trails.  Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather (layers are good!) and have well fitted hiking shoes or boots.  Plenty of water and a bag lunch will also be needed.  

Thursday:

Friday (full day):  Math weekly 11 due

   -Autism awareness day - please wear blue to show your understanding and support.  If you want to see a short video that we'll be watching in class that helps to explain Autism for kids, take a look at:  Amazing Things Happen

** Coming next week we will be building Popcan roadsters in science.  Students will need a clean, empty pop can (or mini Pringles container with the lid) **

Also - it's time to start collecting items for Rube Goldberg machines which are the final projects in our Building things unit.  Please start a bag of supplies at home that includes things like: a large shoe box, paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, string/yarn, wood skewers, tape...  Once your child starts planning their device they may have some more specific items to add in as well and I'll give you a date for sending items into the class.
