* Parent-teacher- student interviews are coming up - online booking will open March 3 *

Monday:   Spelling comes home - please assist your child to remember that, as well as studying their words, it is expected that they complete the short homework assignment by Friday of each week.

Tuesday:

Friday (half day):     Spelling is due.  Students will also be presenting their landform postcards for social (in Google Classroom)

Coming up next week:   Tuesday will be both class picture day as well as our first afternoon of swimming.

We will also have our annual LGMS Carnaval D'Hiver   (Winter carnival) near the end of March.   I am looking for any donations of yarn for our braiding station.  So if you, or anyone you know has a few balls of yarn laying around unused please send them my way!

 Week of Feb.13

Kindness and caring are so important every day to help make our classroom, school and community a positive and safe place for everyone.  This week we celebrate this with both Valentine's day on Tuesday, as well as our LGMS Pink Shirt Day on Friday.

In an effort to promote this all week we're asking everyone to try to wear something pink every day this week.  It could be some great socks, a hat, a shirt or even a pin.

Monday:  To start the week with an act of kindness - there will be no weekly homework assignment this week :)

RR are due Monday with a signature from parents

Tuesday:   Valentine's Day - will be celebrated in the last period of the day when students will be invited to share cards and treats with their classmates.

February is Black History Month.  Hopefully by now you have heard a bit from your child about what we have been discussing in class.  Students will also be completing a research assignment to share (which will be posted on Google Classroom).  If you would like to learn a bit more yourself - here are some links to information which we will also be using in class.

  Week of Feb.6:

Monday:  This week's homework is math weekly #9

Last week students were given a study guide to help with preparing for the unit test this Thursday.  All information needed for the test should be in your child's duotang, their portfolio or Google Classroom (if you do a Google search for answers you will often find information not written for a grade 4 student level of understanding :)  Nightly studying of about ten minutes is a great plan to help be fully prepared.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Thursday: Light and Shadow unit test

Friday: Spelling assignment  Math weekly questions are due first thing in the morning.

Coming next week is Valentine's day as well as our school's Pink Shirt Day Feb.17th  The attached Valentine's note will be coming home Monday.

** Please note - we REALLY DON'T need treats for Valentine's from 22 families - so unless you have extra time, and really want to make something special, please don't worry about sending anything unless your child wants to make cards for their classmates.  **
