Week of April 25

Monday:  Math weekly #12 comes home.  Is due completed by Friday.

Grade 5s - need 1 D battery for science labs, and 2 AA batteries for when we begin using our motor in about two weeks.

Tuesday:  Music & Library

Wednesday: Acrostic poems due

Thursday: Music 

Friday (FULL day):   Math weekly is due

Volunteer opportunities coming up (if you are interested and don't yet have a criminal records check completed, please get that process started now so that you can join us :)

Week of May 24 ish - we will begin building  (gr.4) Rube Goldberg devices  (gr.5) electric cars  and during these busy science blocks we could use some extra hands

June 1 - Plant study/Wetlands field trip to Bow Valley Provincial Park

   Week of April 18

This week's homework assignment is Spelling, list #11 and the assignment that goes with it.  

Please also take some time to help your child to reviews the division strategies we've been working on since the end of March.  Division for marks assignments will be this Friday.  

Monday:  Spelling comes home, assignment and word practice to be completed for Friday morning.

Math - division for marks

Next Monday: Entrepreneur Market int he afternoon for our class.  Most items are prices $1-3 and though students are able to purchase items they like, there is no expectation that they do so.  The students in this option  raised funds of over $1000 during the last two markets which were donated to the Canmore Hospital and the SPCA!

A note for this last part of the year:  In math especially we have taken our time to really focus on the basics of numbers and using them to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  This has included daily practice over long periods of time since these are the cornerstones to math understanding and it is very important that your child can do each of these confidently.   Moving forward we do a number of smaller objectives and more quickly so it is extra important that your child be in school and ready to learn.  

Thanks for all that you do to support your child in their learning journey.  We have lots of great things still to come together in these last few busy months!
