We had a great time learning some new French vocabulary (and showing off our counting to ten skills) with Mme. Gamache's  grade 8 French class on Tuesday :)

Here is some of the feedback our class shared afterwards:

  • It was fun but also we learned
  • I found a connection to some of the grade 8s since we liked the same game
  • The grade 8s were fun leaders and the games were fun too
  • I learned some new colours (more than ones I already knew)
  • I liked the different ideas
  • The leaders were funny
  • The leaders were kind and they helped us when we didn't know
  • They said "good job" when we got things right
  • They helps us to correct our French mistakes
  • The games were unique

There are more pictures in the drive found in Google Classroom if you would like to

take a look as well!

Week of Nov.6

Monday:  No homework assignment - we're taking a break this week but as we are nearing the end of our first Science unit of the year students (with parent support) are encouraged to be spending a few minutes each evening studying for their unit test (planned for Tuesday Nov.21).  We'll be working in class to make some study notes on Google Classroom that fit with the study guide each student will have.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:

Thursday: 9:00 Remembrance day ceremony - if possible, please take a minute this week to discuss the importance and serious nature of our Remembrance day ceremonies.  Poppies are normally available at the school for students but they are welcome to bring their own of course.

Friday  - No school

Class book orders - I send home classroom book order forms 3-4 times per year and one will be coming home later this week.  Any orders that you place through book orders return coupons to our classroom that I use to add to my classroom library :)

All you do is head online and make your order before the due date (that part is important so it doesn't get missed!) and be sure to use our class code RC198401.  They've brought back shipping to the classroom this year so that orders can be grouped and families don't have to pay for orders to ship directly to your home.

Books make great stocking stuffers and gifts too - if you ever place an order you don't want your child to receive in the classroom because it's a surprise, please let me know and I can set it aside.
