Week of March 23

We will be finishing up our measurement and area unit this week with the for marks planned for Thursday.  Please check in with your child about converting between units (Ex: how many cm is 65mm?) and finding the perimeter (add all the sides together) and area (multiply the length by the height) of squares and rectangles

Monday: No homework this week - we will restart this routine after spring break

Tuesday: A small glass or plastic jar or bottle is requested for science

Wednesday: Troll Falls all day field trip - we will be leaving in the morning for this full day trip.  Students will need a bag lunch and plenty to drink.  Good boots for walking that have some waterproofing and appropriate clothing layers (warm socks, toques and buffs, gloves or mitts and waterproof outer layers).  There is very limited cell reception and no places to go inside during this trip so please be sure your child is well rested and healthy to join us.

Thursday:  Measurement for marks

*Library - books for renewal or return  need to come to school today

Friday (full day):  Fairytale stories should be completed

Today we built a density column in science using liquids with different densities.  Then we added a few small objects that floated at different spots in the jar!

* Next week students need a small glass jar or plastic one for another experiment.

Non-Newtonian fluids are fun!   Properties of both solids and liquids all in one substance.  Check out a couple of videos our students made too in the folder of pictures in your child's Google Classroom.
