Week of Oct. 10th
I hope that you all had a family, food and outdoor filled long weekend! I was very thankful for the wonderful weather and chance to be outside in the sunshine!
Monday Thanksgiving - no school
Tuesday: Math weekly comes home. We'll be working on creating some poems this week. Ask your child about the rhyme pattern and syllables needed for a limerick poem. This style of poem has 5 lines with lines 1,2,5 having a final word that rhymes (and 8 syllables each) and lines 3+4 having a final word that rhymes (and 6 syllables each).
Can you create one at home about a favorite stuffy or pet?

Thursday:
Friday (half day): Math weekly #2 is due
Goal setting - with Parent-teacher-student interviews coming Oct. 25,26,27 you should be receiving instructions soon from the office bout how to set up your interview time. Please let me know, or call the office, if you would like more than the standard 15 minute block to discuss your child's progress or address questions, otherwise to respect everyone's time please be sure to arrive promptly and leave on time.
In class we will begin reflecting and thinking about our celebrations and challenges in grade 4 so far to look towards building our first goal of the year. You'll be able to see these in your child's Google Classroom as we work on them.
