As things keep changing rapidly, I hope you have had a chance to see the updates forwarded to you by CRPS, or you have seen the news release about the education and learning expectations for students at home. 

Basically for our grade it means a minimum of 1 hour of work (mostly in LA and Math) per day. If you are thinking, wow, school is usually 7 hours long, how can my child learn everything in only 5 hours per week? Well, the honest answer is that they can't.  But together with you at home, I'm going to help everyone work on the most important things so that your child can be successful this year, and also be confident moving forward into next year. 

I will also be adding in fun sites, learning games and other activities to enrich learning at home.  Though I encourage everyone to participate in these extra activities, and I'll be here to help with any of those learning activities, they are not mandatory.  Real life learning opportunities are something that working from home offers every child.  The ability to plan and prepare a meal, creating a schedule for sharing spaces and tools in the home, and allowing for recreation that helps to cushion some of the impact of the many changes are all equally important.

Today I have invited your child to an individual, as well as a classroom Google Hangout.  Please have them accept by going into their email. (I have a picture below to help you)  I've also added each parent's contact email into Google Classroom which will give you another way to see what we are working on. 

There will also be an opportunity for everyone to collect any learning materials from the classroom or lockers (I'll lend out some books and possibly texts).  Please watch for more information on when that will happen and thank you for your continued patience.  Expect to see the first weekly homework plan come home next Monday, March 30th.
