Important information about weekly Morphology: For Morphology each week students will have 5 words.  There will always be at least 2 things they need to be able to do with those words.

-1- Spell it correctly

-2- Often the second thing will be a definition for the word  (but last week the second thing was to make syllables and find the stressed syllable)

It is very important that students complete their homework accurately and practice both of these things at home.  They can do that by working with an adult or using a dictionary or computer to help them but they can't guess or they won't be practicing the correct skills to show their understanding on Friday.

Friday test will include BOTH skills for students to show their understanding.

Monday: Morphology- New words and homework come home

Tuesday:  Orange Shirt Day

Wednesday: No school - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

 Week of June 15

No more weekly homework assignments.  All duotangs go home.  Please take a look at the front for how your child has been doing on these weekly assignments.

In our classroom this year students have been writing individually with their grandpal, but as a class we have also been writing and sending pictures to a grade 5 class in Germany.  This connection has been fun for everyone and we've been able to share a bit about our class and where we live with them.

For our final letters I'd love each kid to have a picture of them doing something they love in Canmore.  From hiking to hockey, it really doesn't matter what but they'll be writing a little paragraph about why they like it.

If you could talk with your child over the weekend and send one to your child's email (not mine please) we'll be working on this next week.

We are currently seeking donations of books in good condition that are ready for a new home. Whether you are spring cleaning or simply making room for new favourites, your generosity helps us grow.

💰 Where Does the Money Go?

Proceeds from the sale will be split to support two great causes:

  • The LGMS Library: To replenish and expand our book collection for all students.

  • The Adventure Club: To fund upcoming excursions and activities.

📍 How to Donate

Please drop off your gently used books at the front office or directly at the library. We are especially looking for recent titles, manga, and popular graphic novels!
