Volunteers needed - WE need YOU!
I know that we are all busy and that taking the time to volunteer in your child's class isn't always easy, but we have a few things coming up that we really need help with. If it's at all possible for you to join us, please let me know.
Please also be mindful that here at LGMS we are committed to student safety, which is why we require all volunteers that work with our students to have an up to date criminal record check on file (these are valid for one year from issue date). But we have time, so if you don't have one yet please pick up the paperwork from our front office today.
Rube Goldberg Machines - Jan 28-Feb 8
Do you have a love of building and a flexible mindset? Rube Goldberg machines are complicated and take patience and sometimes an extra set of hands. We'd love to have you join us during these building periods to lend a hand to different students and groups.
Monday, Jan 28, Feb.4: 2:00-3:15
Tuesday,Jan 29, Feb.5: 1:45 - 3:20
Thursday, Jan 31, Feb.7: 9:00 - 10:15
Whyte Museum - Feb.13 8:45 - 12:00
We will be taking the bus to Banff where the Whyte Museum will have 4 stations related to the main principals in our Light and Shadows Science unit. The staff at the museum that help to organize this program require each class to have a minimum of 4 parent volunteers to help run each of the four stations that will be set up. We absolutely need your help for this activity. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be able to join us.
Carnaval D'hiver/ LGMS Winter Carnival Feb.15 12:45 - 3:00
Our class will be responsible for the braiding station in our classroom during this fun afternoon. We need at least 1 parent volunteer to help run our station (but 2 is more fun :)
The yarn will be prepared for you, but the ability to braid and help others to do this would be very useful.
